Postby Noel Tudball » Sat May 24, 2014 12:49 am

The Disability Discrimination Legal Service has a new telephone service which provides legal assistance for discrimination matters in all areas. If someone believes that because of the attributes of:
  • Race;
  • Carer (dependants in employment);
  • Religion;
  • Age;
  • Physical features;
  • Marital status or
  • other attributes
they have been treated unfairly or differently then we can assist with free legal assistance. These clients would be provided with advice and assistance and then referred to the casework lawyer to determine which matters will be taken as cases for dispute resolution.

This includes advice, writing letters, engaging in negotiations and representing the person at conciliation or court hearing.

Hours of Operation - 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.

The telephone advice service runs on Thursday between 6.30 pm and 8.30pm. Each client is booked in for an hour with two time slots available at 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm.

The service can also provide community information sessions include providing education to the general public about discrimination.
