The Peninsula Star - http://www.thepeninsulastar.com.au/
(Formerly Mornington Peninsula Online News (MPON).)

Multiple and varied categories of local news and information.

Share your stories behind the news. You can contribute stories & events and subscribe to the weekly newsletter alert via the website.

"Local papers and magazines do a fine editorial job, but they have to work within certain parameters. That means that stories are often not covered well enough and/or limited to one photo, if any."

The Peninsula Star offers more depth to stories and includes more photos to illustrate them. Website links will focus on more personal interest stories and sports that aren't generally well-covered, like Aquatics, with a wider range of topics to appeal to nearly everyone, such as gardening and cooking.

Community News covers a broad spectrum and, within reason, activity should be free or have a charitable link. Once established, it is hoped that costs will be covered by low-cost advertising from Peninsula retail businesses and clubs.

Although this new startup is looking for advertising to fund its operation, it is all about communities, people and the stories behind the news and publicizes our Seaford functions. You can subscribe to the weekly newsletter via the website.
