Foreshore Reserves Community Advisory Committee Expressions of Interest for Membership

Frankston City Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from the community for membership to the Foreshore Advisory Committee which advises Council on strategic planning and management policies for the Keast Park, Seaford and Frankston Foreshore Reserves.

Key attributes being sought include: Interest and enthusiasm; a commitment to facilitating access and use of the foreshore by the Frankston community; caring for, protecting and managing the Foreshore Reserve; and an approach to the task that includes maximising community involvement and participation.

All registrations of interest will be considered. Applications close 5:00pm, Tuesday 23 July 2013.

Frankston City Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from the community for membership to the Foreshore Advisory Committee.

The Advisory Committee advises Council on strategic planning and management policies for the Keast Park, Seaford and Frankston foreshore reserves.

This is a unique opportunity to become actively involved in management of a highly significant area of coastal reserve.

Key attributes being sought include: Interest and enthusiasm; a commitment to facilitating access and use of the foreshore by the Frankston community; caring for, protecting and managing the Foreshore Reserve; and an approach to the task that includes maximising community involvement and participation.

Please note, that committee members are selected on their individual merits and not as representatives of Community groups.

Specific experience or skills in one or more of the following areas would be highly regarded:

  • Knowledge of foreshore user’s needs
  • Community liaison, education and/or training
  • Coastal ecology
  • Tourism and marketing
  • Knowledge of local natural environment
  • Sport and recreation
  • Business management
  • Environmental management
  • Asset management
  • Aboriginal and cultural heritage
