Background:

The SCC was contacted by and is now participating in a workgroup started by the Social Justice Group from Seaford's St Anne's Church.
Here is our position Paper - https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1_RO8yB1fC2b0V2cndiQng0NGM&authuser=0.

This group is now called "Seaford Housing Action Coalition" (SHAC) - http://www.seafordcc.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=20.

Food for thought:

As we look for temporary, permanent, immediate, short-, medium- and long-term solutions, we keep asking why are people sleeping on the beach, in doorways and cars, etc. etc. ...... and being robbed of what few possessions they have?

If you lose your job, have a run of bad luck or get ill or ............. it could be you.
Think about it.

Please contact us if you’d like to get involved.

Outlook:

At least one Frankston Councillor says he is committed to trying to find solutions.
This issue has been in the too-hard basket for too many local, State, Federal and International agencies for far too long.

No, we don't want to make a ghetto, interfere, or tell people in this situation what to do.
We want to help them to get themselves out of whatever mess they find themselves in.

On a lighter note, here is a heart-warming success story (yes, I like cats):
