Friends of Frankston Station - Volunteers Wanted

Frankston City Council is working with Metro and Keep Australia Beautiful to start a new "Friends of Frankston Railway Station" volunteer group which aims to work with residents on projects designed to beautify the station and add to it's overall aesthetic.

Similar "Friends" groups have been established at nearby railway stations with the program producing a number of successful transformations.

Below are some examples of similar programs at work:

Chelsea and Bonbeach Train Station Group  http://cbts.org.au/

More information will be released on "Frankston Station's Friends Group" soon - keep revisiting this page for updates.

Protective Service Officers (PSOs) at Frankston Station

The Protective Service Officers (PSOs) started at the Frankston Transit Interchange on August 27, 2013. The PSOs work in conjunction with local Police, who have continued their regular foot patrols at and around the station.

PSO powers include being able to move people on; arresting those found to be drunk and disorderly; and detaining people believed to have committed a serious offence. They patrol Frankston Railway Station from 6 p.m. until after the last train.

The Frankston Police believe that the presence of the PSOs at Frankston station has improved the feeling of safety in the general area with assaults at the Station 'all but disappearing' (source: http://www.vicpolicenews.com.au).
