Tuesday 17th March
Light refreshments from 5.30pm with the event going from 6pm – 7.15.
This stunning short film shows the impacts of plastic pollution on the marine environment in our bay, highlighting positive actions to address it. There will be time for a Q and A afterwards with an expert guest speaker from the Port Phillip Eco Centre, who collaborated on the creation of this film.
It focuses on things that people can do in their everyday lives to lessen this worldwide problem. The story is told on a local level about our own marine backyard. It also is a call to action for people to help clean up the beaches in a proactive way. You can find out more about Baykeepers at http://www.ecocentre.com/programs/port-phillip-baykeeper
Please see the flyer about the event below.
Please also feel free to forward to people in your networks, families, friends, schools, scout groups etc.
Although it is FREE, we ask that people register their attendance at http://www.baykeepersfilmatfrankston.eventbrite.com.
It’s possible that this might lead to the formation of a local group of volunteers called “Beach Patrol”, part of a network of people around the bay who volunteer once a month to pick up litter on their local beach. There will be more details on the night.
