We've joined the St Anne's Church (Seaford) Social Justice Group, which has been researching issues for several months.

Developments are encouraging.

Richard’s rooming house

Richard is a provider of cheaper accommodation in the form of rooming houses. He attended the March 2015 meeting of our Homelessness group seeking assistance in resolving outstanding compliance issues with FCC and thereby secure the home of the current residents.

Two of our members visited the house with Richard and then met with Richard and Frankston Councillor Rebekah Spelman. Both meetings were very productive and have helped to head discussions in the right direction - toward resolution. Richard and Rebekah will meet with Council Officers in the near future to identify how the building can be made compliant to FCC’s requirements without disruption to the residents.

Our role of getting the parties to the negotiating table is complete and it appears we will not need to be involved again unless things go awry.
